My three kiddos LOVE these protein balls. I’ve been making these for them for a while and have tweaked the recipe to perfection. This recipe makes 22-24 balls. However, most of the time I am handing out balls as I make them so we end up with about 15 or so actually in the fridge. Also, I’m not real sure how long it takes to make them but it is really quick. When it gets less sticky and almost mixed I ditch the spoon and mix with my clean hands to make sure it is well combined.
I really LOVE the Vega Protein and Greens Chocolate powder for these. It is delicious and the ingredients are whole foods. So I can feel good about feeding these protein balls to my precious little ones.
These protein balls make a great bedtime snack as the oatmeal in them produces serotonin. Also, the natural sugar shouldn’t hype them up too much. I just hand them out about an hour or 30 mins or so before bedtime.
Sometimes instead of the Chia and Flax I add a superfood blend like this one!
