I have always been someone who struggles to keep her home clean; The Daily 6 is a super simple way to keep your home clean. Quite a few years ago, a good friend explained this to me, it’s something that she had used in her home and found success with.
I have tried other methods but I always come back to this. I have tweaked and tweaked this and I feel that this could work for almost everyone. These things shouldn’t take much longer than an hour in the morning and an hour in the evening. I know that seems like a lot, but friends, listen, our kids deserve a clean home. WE deserve a clean home.
This little list is the best way I’ve found to maintain a level of cleanliness that is livable. Is my home spotless? Not at all. I have three small kiddos and we live here. We aren’t to homeschooling age yet (and this year I think our two oldest will be attending a wonderful charter school), but we do some school activities and I’m teaching my 6 and 5 year old to read. Doing these things in the mornings helps us all to focus better and get along.
Breathe a little, mama.
When I know that the toys will be picked up when we sweep, I can chill and not just yell about toys all over the floor all the time. Yes, we. My kids pick up the toys and take those back in the play room and mama sweeps. I involve my kiddos in this process as much as possible. My 6 year old can switch the laundry over; stuff like that. Soon I’ll share about our routine and chore sticks.
Also this doesn’t include EVERYTHING. This list would be 12 pages long if I did that. Dogs still need food and water and baths. There’s crayon that someone still needs to scrub off the wall. There’s appliances that still must be cleaned out. I fit these things in where I can, usually on Saturday.
So I just hope this helps. For those of you like me that REALLY struggle, I pray that this will help you breathe a little. Just click on the image below to download.
