My prayer is that this simple guided Bible study journal would be something you can reference over and over, as many times as needed. I hope that this would be something you would learn and memorize and be able to teach your children and friends.
I’ve felt the calling to write a simple guide to studying The Word. Something that would be easy to put down and pick back up at different times. Something that doesn’t have to be done all at one time but can be done in small bite sized pieces throughout the day. There’s something about running a race that has always appealed to me. Though, I’m not much of an athlete I have always wanted to be. I have always had the calling and the need to run.
Sometimes I run away. Sometimes I run TO.
Recently, I have come to the understanding that as a follower of Christ my running should always be TO the cross. TO the Word. TO Jesus. As Christians we are not called to run away from anything but temptation. The Lord gives us bravery. He equips us with wisdom to know what we should run from and run to.
We should continuously be running to the cross! Every time we feel anxious, depressed, scared, hopeless, alone, stuck or defeated. The answer is to run to the cross.
I have always loved this verse. It is the inspiration behind this guided bible study journal which I
have titled: R.A.C.E.
My prayer is that you would run your race well. Keep your eyes on Jesus and His Word and endure the suffering for the joy that awaits at the gates.
Hebrews 12:1-2 (CSB)
“Therefore, since we also have such a large cloud of witnesses surrounding us, let us lay aside every hindrance and the sin that so easily ensnares us. Let us run with endurance the race that lies before us, keeping our eyes on Jesus, the pioneer and perfecter of our faith. For the joy that lay before him, he endured the cross, despising the shame, and sat down at the right hand of the throne of God.”
